The ministry statement said the plan would contribute to the creation of more than 340,000 jobs by 2024.

This is not the first time Saudi Arabia has launched such a program designed to increase local employment. The first version of the plan was launched in 2011, to encourage the localization of jobs and set a minimum wage…

When it comes to economic development plans, Saudi Arabia under Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman thinks outside the box. According to reports, the oil kingdom hired senior consultants to help it set up a local electric vehicle industry. This is another move in an attempt to diversify the kingdom’s sources of income beyond the oil sector.

This is not the first time the kingdom’s name has been linked to the electric vehicle. During 2018, the “Public Investment Fund”, the government’s investment arm, invested in Tesla. However, after Musk did not take Tesla private, the focus of the Saudi Public Investment…

32 years ago, winter 1989, Gaza strip near the Al-Bourage refugee camp. My officers academy team and I are patrolling the streets in heavy cold rain with full combat gear. We are wet to the bone. The streets are empty, everyone in their right mind would stay home in such weather. The 2 years “anniversary” of the Palestinian Intifada was coming up in a few days, and we were dispatched to the area in anticipation of riots. …

There was a saying in Saudi Arabia until not long ago, “There is no life without oil”. The amazing thing is, as part of the success of Vision 2030, created by the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, this saying disappeared from the local lexicon.

The common understanding in the kingdom, that oil is no longer the only thing that drives the Saudi economy, is supported by numbers.

The Saudi economy more than doubled(!) it’s non-oil revenue in just 5 years, between 2016–2020. In 2015, prior to the announcement of the 2030 Vision, non-oil revenue totaled $44 billion. Last year, they…

August 9, 2006, the middle of the 2nd Lebanon war, Hezbollah terrorists fire two anti-tank missiles at a house near the Lebanese village of Dabel, in the house there was an IDF paratroopers engineering team. Six are killed immediately, the death toll will rise to nine later.

I get the message as the operations officer of my special forces paratroopers unit. We prepare for a rescue and extraction mission.

Night time, we cross the border and enter the fighting zone under a heavy artillery screen. The loud shell explosions are in sharp contrast to the quiet sound of our jeeps’…
